Quick summary
  • An Odoo ERP implementation at ENTROSOFT goes through 4 phases: Consulting → Implementation → Training → Support.
  • Consulting defines the scope: understand operations correctly before configuring the software.
  • The quality of migrated data and the level of user involvement are the two factors with the biggest impact on go-live.
  • Start with the most essential modules and expand gradually once the system is stable.

Phase 1 — Consulting

The consulting team works with each department to understand how the business currently operates: sales, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, accounting and HR. From there, we design new processes and select the right Odoo modules. ENTROSOFT offers a free business operations analysis and consulting service at this stage.

Common risks: vague scope, conflicting requirements from each department, and no final decision-maker.

Phase 2 — Implementation

Odoo is configured according to the agreed processes, specific needs are customized, the system is integrated with existing software (POS, accounting, e-commerce marketplaces, banks) and data is migrated from the legacy system. The business tests on real data before go-live.

TipClean up your master data (customers, products, suppliers, opening stock) as early as possible. Non-standardized legacy data is a common cause of go-live delays.

Phase 3 — Training

Users are trained by role through documentation and in-person sessions. In projects such as Nature Foods (NFC) and Sông Hồng Tân, ENTROSOFT ran training on-site at the client so users could get familiar with the new sales and inventory management system and processes.

Phase 4 — Post go-live support

After go-live, the support team stays with you to resolve issues, provide system warranty and, when needed, upgrade the Odoo version and perform scheduled maintenance. This is also when the business can consider the next step: applying AI Agent to standardized Odoo data.

Implementation readiness checklist

  1. Appoint a project owner on the business side with decision-making authority.
  2. List current processes and the points that cause delays or errors.
  3. Identify the priority modules for the first phase.
  4. Prepare master data and opening balances.
  5. Schedule users for testing and training.
  6. Agree on go-live criteria and post go-live support channels.
